Privacy Policy – FunZone Kids

📄 Overview

FunZone Kids ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile gaming app for children aged 5–15, developed by Badr Jalili. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

🧒 This app is designed for children. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with applicable laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

By using FunZone Kids, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. 📋 Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use FunZone Kids:

Guest users (who do not sign in with Google) are assigned an anonymous ID only. No name or email is collected for guest accounts.

2. 🔧 How We Use Your Information

App functionality — saving game progress, coin balance, and level completion so your data persists across sessions and devices.
Account management — creating and authenticating your account when you sign in with Google.
Age verification — the birth year collected during the age gate is used solely to determine eligibility and comply with children's privacy laws.
Analytics — understanding how users interact with the app so we can improve it. Analytics data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
Crash reporting — diagnosing and fixing app errors using Firebase Crashlytics.
Advertising — showing rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. Watching ads is always optional and earns in-app coins.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

3. 🔗 Third-Party Services

FunZone Kids uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

4. 📺 Advertising

FunZone Kids shows rewarded video ads powered by Google AdMob. Watching an ad is always voluntary — it rewards you with extra in-app coins. You can use the app fully without watching any ad.

AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID and approximate location (derived from your IP address) to show relevant ads. AdMob complies with Google's Families Policy for child-directed apps.

⚠️ Important for parents: Ads shown in the app are filtered through Google's child-directed ad settings, which restrict interest-based and remarketing ads for younger audiences.

5. 🧒 Children's Privacy

FunZone Kids is designed for children aged 5–15. We take the following steps to protect children's privacy:

An age gate is shown on first launch. Users must provide their birth year before proceeding.
We do not require children to create an account. A full guest experience is available with no personal data collected.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as precise location, phone number, or photos.
We do not allow children to share personal information publicly within the app (no chat, no social features).
AdMob is configured with child-directed settings to restrict personalised advertising.
Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to request deletion of their child's data (see Section 7).

If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

6. 🗂️ Data Retention

When you delete your account, all personally identifiable information stored in our database is deleted immediately and permanently.

7. ✅ Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
Data portability — request a copy of your data in a structured format.

To delete your account from within the app:

Open FunZone Kids
Go to Settings ⚙️
Scroll to the Account section
Tap Delete Account and confirm

You can also submit a deletion request by email to badreddinejalili@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 7 business days.

8. 🔒 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth — we never store passwords.
Firestore security rules restrict access so users can only read and write their own data.
The app does not use cleartext (unencrypted) network traffic.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. 📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users within the app.

Continued use of FunZone Kids after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
